Adele's new record sounds absolutely AMAZING! I've already watched this video 5 times tonight. Unfortunately we'll have to wait until February to hear the whole record. The video and song below are going to have to tide us over until then.
I don't know much about Royal Wood other than I am in love with his music. Picture your perfect Sunday and that's what Royal Wood's music is like. Find out more about him on his website and myspace and watch two videos below. You can also hear a ton of his songs on radio3.ca (CBC).
I would find it very hard to pick one band as "my favorite" but the New Pornographers are definitely in the top 5. Together was just released and it's amazing. Canada is so lucky to be able to claim the New Pornographers as their own! You can listen to the entire record on Spinner.ca. Find out more about them on their website and watch a brand spankin' new video for "Your hands (together)" below.
I had to make eight cakes today and although I was partially cross eyed by the end of it, I got through it with help from The wooden sky. They put me in such a good mood! Their myspace has a great documentary titled "a documentary in pieces" on it, which is definitely worth watching. You can also hear some of their songs on their myspace page. Watch a video for "Oh my god" below.
I cannot remember if I've publicly acknowledged my love for Peaches on this blog already but if I have I'm doing it again. She is what she is and she ain't what she ain't. Check her out on her myspace, website and watch a video below for "Talk to me", which is currently my fav Peaches song.
Lightning Dust, hailing from Vancouver has such an unique sound. So beautiful sounding with a funk edge that I just love! If you like surprises, you should definitely check them out. A few songs on their myspace but no videos that I can find yet. Also check out their website to find out more about them. Click on the link below to listen to "I knew" (a player will open in another window).
Cadence Weapon is one rad dude. He is Edmonton's newly named Poet Laureate, a panelist on CBC's Canada Reads 2010, and the creator of amazing music. He has his album "Separation Anxiety" available on his website for whatever price you are willing to pay. Check out some of his tunes on his website and myspace and watch a video for Real Estate below.
I have been keeping Dan Mangan on heavy rotation on my playlist these days. I absolutely love everything about this man's music. Please check him out, you will be so blown away! Find out more on his website and myspace and watch 3 videos below.
